Francesca’s Cells Project

Molecular Characterization of Acute Myeloid Leukemia

History

The project starts with Francesca’s Cells that her parents have preserved and are kept partly at the IRCSS Istituto Regina Elena in Rome and partly at San Raffaele in Milan. The goal of the cell studies is to be able to identify what genetic cause led to Francesca‘s sudden passing. The hope is that such a painful event can be predicted and thus prevented in time with specially prepared genetic tests.
